Few superstitions you won’t believe actually exist:
Russians consider bird poop to be lucky as it is an indication of wealth and prosperity. Therefore the more poop you have on your car, the better off you’ll be.
They don’t sleep at night with their fan switched on. They believe that they may die due to hypothermia.
It is considered good luck to wear paladin khik or ‘honorable surrogate penis’. It is believed to bring good fortune in gambling and make you irresistible to ladies.
Homes in United States used to have slanted windows to prevent witches from flying through. Apparently witches can fly through and resurrect death but if the window has a 45 degree angle it is difficult to do so.
In Spain, it is considered to be good luck if you can eat 12 grapes when the clock strikes mid-night on New Year’s Eve.
While visiting Japan, you should never place your chopsticks vertically into a bowl of rice. It is considered to be a misfortune as it is similar to the formation of incense burning at a Japanese funeral.
In China, 4 is considered to be an unlucky number as it sounds similar to the Chinese word for death. Hence they try to avoid this number as much as possible. They skip the 4th floor in most buildings, and even go on to skip all levels with a four in them. They even avoid 4 in the number plate of a car or in their phone numbers.
Surprising isn’t it?
